How long does it take for Abrsm online theory results?
We will email applicants, and candidates (parents/carers) who have an account, when their Music Theory results are available to view online. For applicants, this will be approximately four weeks after the exam date, subject to our quality assurance checks.
How long do Abrsm performance results take?
For Performance Grade exams, certificates should be received within 3 months from the end of the exam session.
What is the pass mark for Abrsm exams?

Candidates need: 100 marks to Pass; 120 marks to pass with Merit; 130 marks to pass with Distinction.

- Go to ‘My previous exams’.
- Click ‘Release to candidate’ next to a result.
- If the candidate (parent/carer) has an ABRSM account, they will receive an email letting them know that they can log in and view their result.

If there are mistakes on a certificate or a certificate has been damaged or lost we can provide a replacement. This service is temporarily free of charge until further notice. We will not reissue certificates until 28 days after the original despatch date to allow for delivery delays.

ABRSM’s Music Theory exams aim to give students a thorough understanding of the building blocks of music, starting with the basics of rhythm and notes at Grades 1 to 5. To provide a more candidate friendly experience, we have moved the assessment of these grades to an online exam.
How do I register for the ABRSM exams?
You can register for exam through a music school, a private teacher, or by yourself – simply go down to the ABRSM exams office during the registration period to register for exams or send in the completed form. If you already had registered for exams before (as an applicant), you can register for exams online.

Checks should be made payable to Peters ABRSM Agency. Please send one check for Practical entries and one check for Music Theory entries. Credit card vouchers are available from your representative for payment by Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card, and can be downloaded here.
When will my Exam results be available to view?
For candidates (parents/carers) with an account, this will be seven days after we have released results to the applicant. Applicants also have the option to release an earlier email to candidates to tell them that their results are ready to view. We will post printed certificates to our local Representative (s) once the exam session has ended.
