Dumbledore is not a “bad guy” per se. He’s just not a necessarily good one, either. He had good intentions, that is, the destruction of Voldemort, but he was very manipulative and did some not only morally questionable things, but some downright bad things. Dumbledore constantly manipulated Harry in the books.
