Why is it so hard to understand Interstellar?

Why is the Interstellar movie hard to understand especially at the last 20 minutes? Because the director and screenplay sucked and did a terrible, horrible job of explaining, except in visuals what happened. The goal was to find the formula to break gravity and get off of Earth.

What did the professor lie about in Interstellar?

Professor Brand (Michael Caine) reveals to Murph (Jessica Chastain) that Plan A — transporting humans from Earth to the new home planet — is a complete sham because the gravity equation required to get the stations into space needs data from within a black hole.

How old is Murph in interstellar?

He took 18 months to travel to the wormhole (in cryosleep). And the end of the film the doctor says he’s 124 Earth years old. The doc also said Murph was in cryosleep for 2 years. So if you disregard the cryosleep Murph was 10 + 2 + 23 + 51 = about 86 years old.

Professor Brand considered Plan A to be impossible because in order to solve his gravity equation, he would need unobtainable data from the Singularity of a black hole. Professor Brand went to great efforts to conceal this fact from everybody, including his daughter Amelia and Murph.

Thankfully, as soon as the characters take off, the film does too. Was it just me?

While Interstellar doesn’t have the franchise recognition of Nolan’s Batman films, and should never have been expected to surpass his comic book movies, it also does not seem to have as broad an appeal as his more action-oriented film Inception, his other recent original IP.

Is Christopher Nolan’s ‘interstellar’ worth another billion dollars?

It’s also hard to see how “Interstellar” won’t make another billion-plus dollars and thus deepen Nolan’s mystique as the one studio director who’s not a studio hack, as the solitary Hollywood icon who somehow does enormous, surprising, profitable things his own way.
