What do you enjoy most about being a musician?

Since this is the month of Love I thought I would share my top 5 reasons why I Love being a musician.

  1. Relationships. Being a musician has helped me build a lot of wonderful relationships and I have learned so much through these relationships.
  2. Skills.
  3. Health.
  4. Traveling.
  5. Education.

How long are musicians on the road?

Depends on their level of success. Huge bands are going to be on the road for a year or more. I’d say your average tour length for your average local band going out on the road would be around 2 weeks at most with 11 or 12 shows. You can tour for as long as you can book shows and don’t run out of money.

Why do you want to be a singer?

Be it birds singing in their beautiful voices, or human beings singing to express their joy, sorrow, love or hatred towards someone or something, singing has always been a good medium of expressing yourself. Singing increases your self confidence and poise, and also helps in character building.

Do you have to tour as a musician?

Unless you are performing nationally with a name act, touring is probably the least lucrative for most musicians. And touring is not for everyone. It’s hard on you physically, mentally, and for personal and family relationships. Professional musicians do not have to tour to make a living.

What do you do as a musician?

Musicians write, record, and perform music. They may be trained in a particular musical genre and play a number of instruments. Musicians’ daily activities include rehearsing, recording, writing lyrics and delivering performances.

Why do we love musicians?

The musician can inspire, thrill and even soothe the audience. Like a guru, music can lead us to righteousness, peace and brotherhood in a world that often seems fractured and alienated by culture, race, religion and conflict. Musicians sacrifice many things in life in order to express their art and speak their truth.
