Can we ever travel to the past?
General relativity. Time travel to the past is theoretically possible in certain general relativity spacetime geometries that permit traveling faster than the speed of light, such as cosmic strings, traversable wormholes, and Alcubierre drives.
How do I travel to the past?
The simplest way currently being discussed is to take a wormhole (a tunnel connecting spatially separated regions of space-time) and give one mouth of the wormhole a substantial velocity with respect to the other. Passage through the wormhole would then allow travel to the past.
Why can you only travel forward in time?
The theory is based on Einstein’s Theory of Special Relatively that states to travel forward in time, an object would need to reach speeds close to the speed of light. As an object approach these speeds, time slows down but only for that specific object travelling.
What happens if you travel faster than the speed of light?
Time Travel Special relativity states that nothing can go faster than the speed of light. If something were to exceed this limit, it would move backward in time, according to the theory.
Is it possible to time travel to the past?
Mainstream science dictates that time travel to the past is impossible. The basic problem with time travel to the past is conservation of energy. For example, pretend I made a time travel portal that sends objects back three seconds in time to the exact same location, and I mount this portal a few inches above a trampoline.
How can we travel into the future?
We can travel into the future by either spending time in a vehicle traveling very fast relative to earth or by spending time in a very strong gravitational field. In both cases, time travel does not allow skipping to some future time. All reference frames must experience all seconds in the day.
Is it possible to travel backward in time?
“But it is not possible for you and me to travel backward in time,” he said. However, some scientists believe that traveling to the past is, in fact, theoretically possible, though impractical.
Is it possible to go into the past?
Yes…we can go into the past. In our thoughts that is, atleast. But physically, it’s not possible. You may have heard of all the paradoxes which sound impossible, and make us deduce that the laws of nature are designed (by god i believe) to prevent us from travelling back into the past.
